Advocacy in Action | Reprocessed Claims Assistance

A member contacted Purple Card because she had received another bill from her medical provider for charges dating back to a year prior. The member sent a copy of the bill and asked her Patient Advocate to check and see why the provider was still sending her a bill. The Patient Advocate checked with the insurance carrier and found the claim was recently reprocessed, and an additional payment had been made to the provider. After the additional payment, the member had no patient responsibility and owed the provider nothing. The Patient Advocate called the provider billing department and confirmed they had received the additional payment and the member had no balance. Here is what the member had to say about the services received from the Purple Card®:
